Renewable energy systems: $2,500 minimum, $1 million maximum. Energy efficiency improvements: $1,500 minimum, $500,000 maximum. Grants up to 50% of total eligible project cost.
Your share
Applicant must provide matching funds; grants cover up to 50% of eligible project costs (25% for some project types)
Who can apply
  • Agricultural producers with at least 50% of gross income from agricultural operations, or
  • For-profit small businesses (SBA size standards) in eligible rural areas of 50,000 population or less
  • No delinquent federal taxes, debt, judgments or debarment
  • Biodigester and controlled environment agriculture applications are paused
