Fixed-rate microloans made through local Microenterprise Development Organizations to very small rural businesses for working capital, equipment, supplies, refinancing and real estate improvements.

- Business with 10 or fewer full-time employees
- Located in an eligible rural area, generally outside cities of 50,000 or more
- Loans come from a Microenterprise Development Organization (MDO) funded by USDA

- Contact a USDA-funded Microenterprise Development Organization or your USDA state office to find a lender.
- Timing
- Businesses borrow from MDOs on an ongoing basis. USDA notes its quarterly competitions for MDOs are on hold under a partial continuing resolution until the FY2027 funding notice is published.
